Mold illness guides for families who want answers, not more spin
I am Aubree Felderhoff, Mold Illness Recovery Specialist and host of the Mold Free Mom podcast. After 12 years, 30-plus doctors, and recovering twice, I built the path I wish someone had handed me on day one.
These guides cover symptoms, testing, CIRS labels, the home, and remediation in plain language. No fear marketing. No forever-protocol identity. Read what you need, use the free tools, and reach out when you want help walking it with you.
A simple order that saves years
Most families reverse this. They spend on partial house tests, endless supplements, or a protocol with no finish line before anyone maps symptoms or the right labs. Start here instead.
Name the pattern
Multi-system symptoms that doctors treat one at a time often belong together. Start with the symptoms guide and free assessment.
2Test the body wisely
Blood work first when you are sick and unsure. Skip the expensive loops that never answer the real question.
3Fix the environment
Find moisture and growth with a real inspector, then remediate with a clear scope. Still sick after the work? Dig into why.
4Recover with an end date
Time-limited, physician-coordinated recovery, not a forever protocol identity. Programs and stories show what that looks like.
Educational guides
Deep dives you can share with a spouse, a doctor, or yourself at 2 a.m. when the pieces finally click.

Who these guides are for
You have seen multiple doctors. Labs look “fine.” Symptoms move around the body. Someone mentioned mold and you do not know who to trust. Or you already spent years on a protocol that never ended and you are ready for a path with a finish line.
I write in first person from recovery coaching, not as a diagnosing physician. When a claim needs a medical source, I point to established research or agency guidance. When something is my experience with families, I say so.
If you want structured support, the program hub explains the T.R.E.A.T. system and options. Testing leads that funnel on purpose so you do not buy a program you do not need. Prefer a conversation first? Book a free discovery call.

Frequently asked questions
Where should I start if I think mold is making my family sick?+
Start with the symptom pattern and whether it fits multi-system mold-related illness. Take the free Mold Symptoms Assessment, then read the symptoms and testing guides. Body-focused blood work often comes before a full home inspection when you are sick and unsure. You still need a real plan for the building if exposure is ongoing.
Is this medical advice?+
No. These guides are educational coaching content from my lived experience and work with families. I am a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner and Mold Illness Recovery Specialist, not a physician. Work with licensed clinicians for diagnosis and medical treatment.
Do you follow the Shoemaker Protocol?+
No. Many people I work with spent years on forever protocols and never reached a finish line. The path I teach is blood-test-led, time-limited, and coordinated with a physician who understands mold-related illness. See the CIRS guide for how I talk about labels and long protocols.
Should I test my house or my body first?+
If you are sick and still guessing, blood testing is often the practical first step because it speaks to what is happening in you and is often less expensive than a full inspection. If labs or symptoms point strongly to environmental exposure, the house still needs a quality inspector who finds the moisture source. The testing and inspector guides walk through both.
What free tools do you offer?+
A free Mold Symptoms Assessment, a Hidden Mold Checklist for walking the house, and a full inspector hiring guide with a printable checklist. All are linked from this hub.
How is coaching different from reading these guides?+
Guides give you the map. Coaching is walking the path with someone who has recovered twice and helps families sequence testing, the home, and recovery without spinning for years. Start free if you are early. Book a discovery call when you want a direct conversation about fit.
