Dr. Ben Rall: The number three cause of death United States of America is properly prescribed prescription drugs. Our life expectancy has gone down four years in a row. have the sickest kids we've ever had in the history of the world. 40 to 60 percent of kids have chronic disease. Turbo-cancer is on the rise in younger people than ever before. It's not working. It hasn't gone well. The results are in. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Welcome back to Mold Free Mom. It is a pleasure to have you on.
Dr.: I am excited to be here with you. I don't know how you are. I hate bios. I hate hearing my bio, especially Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah.
Dr.: when years are involved, right? And then one of my Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah.
Dr.: staff wrote that. you know, it's always a weird thing, but most of that is true. That is me. Some of it I don't know if I remember, but that's me. So I'm excited to be here. Thanks for having me. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah, absolutely. Well, it's quite an impressive bio, which I'm probably gonna make you blush about, but I wanna hear a little bit about your story, how you got into the chiropractic industry. I also wanna hear about the Olympics and how that all panned out. So can you share a little bit more about you past the flashy part of the bio?
Dr.: Yeah, I'll give you a divotus as quickly as I can. most people somewhat like yourself already, you know, your test becomes your testimony, right? Like what you do right now is a journey that, you know, you went through, right? And so you're able to use that to be a blessing. So I was just a typical kid grew up in the Midwest and I was a boxer. That was my sport. That was my whole goal. I was trained for the 96 Olympics as a boxer and I got sick. All right. Now I grew, I didn't grow up in some hippie commune. I grew up just kind of a typical kid in the Midwest and now I'm 47. So it was a little different back then, but my parents weren't like run to the doctor people, but they also weren't like, here's your homeopathic, right? So it was like, hey, you'll, you as long as you're not going to die, just walk it out. So long story short, I'm having all these digestive issues. I don't know what to do. I'm at the Olympic training center. I go to the doctor and they did an upper GI and lower right, lower endoscopy and long story short, they went in there and I was full of what they call pre-cancerous lesions. I remember when I woke up, the doctor was over me with just like these roles of Images he had taken inside of my body and it was disgusting. actually remember thinking that's not me Like I don't have these big black tar ulcers all over my intestines and my stomach and he said there's so many we stopped counting I said, do I do? He you take these medications I said for how long you said forever So, you know, I didn't have any contrast for that, right? I didn't know like you do what the doctor says and so even though I didn't like that answer I didn't know what to do. So I started taking the medications These medications shut down my digestive system. don't know if you know much about boxing, but it's a weight class sport. I went, well, yeah, you were gymnast, right? You understand this elite level stuff, right? Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yep.
Dr.: In some ways, it's amazing. In some ways, it's a nightmare. Okay. And I've got mixed feelings on it, but I'm grateful for my time. It taught me a lot of things, but from a health perspective, as a doctor, now I sit here and I go, I beat my head in and starred myself for years. But, um, so these medications, they, shut down my digestion. I went from 165 pounds to 245 pounds. I kicked out of the training center and I went back to my hometown. I had kind of left the hometown hero. And I came back kind of like, you I just say sick, fat and depressed. You know, I remember like you'd be in the grocery store and you know, you just could tell people were saying like, Hey, isn't that and it wasn't a big deal. But you know, you can just tell people like what happened to Ben. And the problem was I didn't know, right? I just thought I got bad luck. I thought I got handed the bad deck, right? I guess this is just, I don't know, my punishment for being a stupid kid. I don't know. So I suffered like that for three, three and a half years. I'd go in every six months, get my scans redone. My lesions were either getting worse or staying the same. Nothing was getting better. Now I'm having the side effects of the medications, of course. So somebody said you should go to chiropractor. And I said, well, hmm, okay. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: you
Dr.: I'm not real sure. It wasn't anti, I just didn't understand. And so I went to this chiropractor. was the first person that sat me down and explained really what my life purpose has become, which is that my body's designed to heal. I didn't forget how to digest food when I was 19 years. There's a cause. What's going on? What changed? What happened? And so through the analysis of what he went through, He found pressure in my nerve system and that nerve system area happened to have a lot to do with my digestion. So this has not happened to everybody, but this is what happened to me. I got my first adjustment within one week. I got off the medications I've been on twice a day for three and half years. I lost 67 pounds in four months. Two months after that, I went back in and got my scans done and my lesions were completely healed. Now listen, it's amazing, but it's not a miracle. God designed you to heal. Okay, so it's an amazing story and I'm grateful for it and praise God I'm off those drugs that one of them is no longer in the market killed 33,000 people a year. I may not be here to tell the story. I may not be here to be a dad to my children, a husband to my wife. So it's a big deal and I don't downplay it. So I decided of course through that experience I wanted to help other people like that, right? Because I knew I wasn't the only one. And then the last thing that happened to me related to that is in chiropractic school at the time, and some schools still do this, we worked on cadavers. We worked on, I mean it's an intense thing. I used to have a strong fear of death before I was really saved. I just didn't understand and I didn't desire to be around dead bodies. I don't know if anybody does. So it was a big deal for me to even be in there. And I remember the day that we open you it's what it sounds like I mean you start with the person that donates their body to science there was a room with 12 cadavers in there and you get assigned one for the year and I remember when we opened up the body like you crack the chest and you open up the body It really was a metaphorical come to Jesus moment for me when I saw the inside of the human body. I Just had this overwhelming moment where I realized okay This isn't about figuring this out. the created will never understand the creator. He's above us, he's higher than us. Thank God for that, okay? There's trillions of things happening, trillions of times a second, and trillions of cells with trillions of atoms. Like, nope, just thank God it does an amazing job. And so in that moment I realized my job as a doctor was really to not figure this out, but to learn how honor it, to steward it well, right? To remove interferences to that. And so that really has been my mission. If you would say that for the last, I've been in practice now over 21 years, 21,000 patients. It did lead me ironically, right, only through the grace of God to the Olympics, as a doctor, So was an amazing experience and I'm thankful for that. And I've helped open clinics in Africa and I've traveled to many countries around the world taking care of people. But what I realized doing that is it sounds sexy. you get to do these neat things and you're around, you know, the Olympic stuff and the Olympic house and but I'll tell you like my passion is really for and I just isn't the right way to say but just like for moms and dads like the the average people and I don't mean that disparagingly. I just mean like like I don't need to fly over to Russia or to London or Turkey to adjust somebody matter of fact, I think it's kind of unfortunate that I need to do that meaning I just wish there other great talkers over there. There's nothing special about me. But so, it really just lit up my passion. I want gold medal mom and dads and brothers and sisters. I don't ever like the idea that healthcare, holistic healthcare, has to be an elitist thing. I know that's part of your heart as well. I don't think that any more than you have to be a millionaire to be saved by Christ, you don't have to be a multi-millionaire to have holistic healthcare. So it's been a little, because I've been in this space a long time, like you, some of it's disheartening because I've seen that change, right? And it's, if I don't have 13 therapies, I can't possibly get well. Now there's extreme circumstances, like you've been through Aubree which changes that game a little bit, right? There's seasons. My dad had stage four cancer. I took him to holistic cancer place. That was not, you know, taking an episodes all bath. There's some things that you have to do in those moments of crises. That's not what I'm talking about today. So it was an amazing experience. I'm thankful that God redeemed that and let me do that. But I probably won't do that again, right? I love taking care of the people in my community. Where I live and serve with my family. So that was a little bit longer than you probably wanted, but that's my story I'm sticking to it Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: I loved it. I loved the entire thing. And to hear that I didn't realize, I've listened to your podcast for a while now, and I didn't realize your initial story as to how you got in,
Dr.: Mm. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: that you also were sick and went into the traditional medical system. you
Dr.: Yeah. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: know, it, I mean, it failed me. It sounds like it didn't help you at all either. That's, an incredible transformation so quickly too. So piggybacking
Dr.: Yes. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: off of that, Dr. Ben, the people that you have coming to you, said, you know, you want the gold medal. I love that too.
Dr.: Mm. Mm. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: gold medal moms and dads, right? Because we are the ones that are carrying forth these children and discipling them into the world. So important. What is the number one, I guess, complaint or problem that you see people complaining about as they're coming into your clinic? Like, what are they looking for? it chronic pain or fatigue or digestive
Dr.: Mm-hmm. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: or stress or all of the above?
Dr.: Yeah, you know, it's been challenging and I know this is you're just a straight shooter, you know, kind of polo punches person. But when Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah.
Dr.: you've done it as long as I, as I have in the sense like I, you know, I take care of, you know, people's kids that I took care of, you know, like when they were kids, right. And, and you watch, I hate this, Aubree, but people are getting sicker and it's, it's hard to see, right. I when you live in the space we live in, in holistic healthcare and such, like our vision is like, better than that, right? I watch the statistics, I watch depression, watch anxiety, I watch asthma, allergies, chronic fatigue, cancers right now, turbo cancers, like it's kidney renal disease, like I've never seen it in my life. Like it doesn't even honestly make sense. Like when you have a large practice like I have, like you kind of have like a kind of your finger on the pulse of like, okay, I expect about this much of that, right? Just because you're used to it. And when you start to see like things I've never really seen in my life, the amount of kids that come to me with autism now, is devastating. Okay, it's a devastating situation. Here's, and it might not be the answer to your question, but here's, you there's what people maybe have what they think they have going on. And then maybe what they need, what they think they need and what they need might be different. Okay, and I don't mean that again, against like not smart people. But what I've found is people are so confused and they've lost so much trust in health, right? That everything is like, You know, I used to teach people about nutrition and detox. I still do, except what's funny is they used to be like, you know, like it was easy, like it was interesting, it was new to them. Right now I'm like, for some people, I'm like trying to get them off of supplements, right? I'm trying to actually give them to stop doing some things. They're so confused. They've been told so much stuff. There's 8 million people telling them stuff they were lied to by the government. They were lied to by whatever, and they're just frustrated. They've almost thrown their hands in the air. And it's almost honestly, I think part of my job, Aubree, is is actually to give them hope. So you tell me what people come in with, I'd say hopelessness. Now they won't articulate it like that. They don't say, I've given up. But they will say things like, you're my last resort. They will say things like, I've tried everything, it doesn't work. They'll say things like, I'm on 15 different medications and I'm only getting sicker. They'll say things like, I don't have any money anymore to afford because it's all in the medical system or whatever some version of that, right? And they think they've tried everything. And so it's some kind of combination of times of hopelessness and the caveat, the other little kind of piece I put in there. Honestly, Aubree is fear. There's also a lot of people that have fear. They have fear about their health. They literally look at the bodies that God created. The one thing that he made in his likeness and image they looked at said, you know, very good. And we actually, many people live in fear of that. Like it's the enemy. It's a very weird contrast to have that we literally look at the one thing that God made his likeness and image and we live in fear of it or we are angry about it there's 99 other problems to worry about. have to worry about that one. And so it's this weird place. So again, probably not the answer that you were looking for, but that's kind of my experience with it right now. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: I track with all of it, not trusting the body that is divinely
Dr.: Mm. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: made. The fear piece I know in particular for me and my story with mold and environmental illness and so much of it is invisible. mean, our mold
Dr.: Mm. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: exposure was it's incredibly traumatic and scary. And then you're right. had, mean, even in the mold field, there's so many different versions of, you know, this protocol and natural or functional or holistic or all the way prescriptions or all supplements or there's so many different versions of how to get well that you do start to not feel as if you can trust anyone. That everyone's out to get your money and everyone's out to
Dr.: Yeah. Yeah. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: nothing works. And so let me ask you this, if fear, which I 100 % agree with is so big in this and distrust, what is the top thing you would recommend to someone that is suffering? mean, so many of us are scared, especially when the stakes are high, cancer. autism, environmental illness, that those are big things. Not that allergies aren't, but it's a little heavier.
Dr.: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know that we didn't have a lot of free plan on this, but if I were to ask you to ask me a question, that's probably what I'd ask you to ask me. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yay!
Dr.: My antidote to that or my answer to that, how do we come against that, is really understanding that we're fearfully and wonderfully made. I know this is going to sound a little bit odd, but it's maybe not to you and hopefully not to too many people listening, but how do you combat that is you have to have a proper perspective on how amazing your body is. Okay. Because when you understand that, like right now you have, I have the last estimate I saw was a hundred. I'm old enough that I remember in school it was 40 trillion cells. Then it was 60 trillion. That was 80. The number I hear now is a hundred trillion cells. that we have in our body, And in those hundred trillion cells right now there's trillions of atoms in those cells. Like these are mind-boggling numbers, okay? And then to think that somehow they're all knowing what to do right now, it's, mean, I know that there's different things that you talk about through protocols that at times we need to use, right? But like, make no mistake, your body's detoxing right now as we talk, okay? God didn't forget detox organs. He didn't forget... digestion and immune systems and your eyes, your ears, your mouth. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: if you or someone that you love is dealing with mold illness or symptoms that look like they could be related to mold, and you're not sure where to start, you're feeling overwhelmed with even the thought of what to do next, you don't have to keep piecing this together alone. I offer a free discovery call where we can talk through where you are right now and what would actually help you get unstuck and move towards healing. Head over to moldfreemom.com and grab a free discovery call. See you there.
Dr.: Half of my slides sometimes when I do presentations, I'm just telling amazing, unbelievable facts about the body that God designed because, because what we often do Aubree is we under appreciate that and then we overemphasize the fear. Okay, so you'll hear, you'll hear those stories. But I also think, It exposes your heart sometimes when you're walking through this. Okay, so if you are so afraid of a health issue, okay, you will do things that are maybe not in your best interest. Okay, so give you an example, you may disagree with this, but like if you're so afraid of breast cancer, so you go remove your breast prophylactically, or you're live in fear of the genes that God gave you, or you're gonna live in fear and you're gonna get mammograms every year and run 10,000 chest x-rays through your breasts, which actually the research that you're showing causes cancer, then I would say you've been manipulated by the system. Okay, so a lot of times my antidote, how do you press against all of this confusion? How do you cut through the clutter? You focus on the one that made you, the great physician, Jehovah Rapha. You have to understand his goodness for you. I've been through a fair amount as a guy, I got a 19 year old kiddo and a 16 year old son and. My wife, I don't live under a rock, I don't live in a bubble. I live in the world and I go see people all day long and I walk through COVID with people and I never shut my office down, never put a mask on my face. This is how I live my life for people. I try to give them courage, to them to see an example of walking your life out in faith. So if you are going to spend time looking up every condition and every fear factor and every test you have to do and live, and I know you're so great about this, where you You don't like try to get people in fear because you can go down that path, right? Like you can end up like everything's out to get you. Right. And I have to remind myself that it's not the case. so just last statement I'll say, so they did a study one time on people and the average person has an understanding of health at a nine year old level. Okay. So that's like third grade. I don't know about you, but third grade. I mean, I was making all sorts of bad decisions. Okay. Right. So, so like, don't know if I trust my elves to a third, a nine year old understanding. Okay. So Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Sure.
Dr.: all day long you're propaganda about fear, right? And drugs and pills and billboards and this test and that test and they're wrapped up with, you know, trillions of dollars in marketing. You don't even realize how, Manipulated or even brainwashed you have become like unintentionally right? you don't realize and you haven't had that combated against okay with like the wisdom and the divine creation that is your body, I even look at like, churches sometimes, right? we've made a bigger idol out of modern medicine. We laugh as, I can't believe they worship golden calves. I can't believe they did this stuff in the Bible. My friends, we have idols right now. Okay, you think, a goddess of fertility? Yeah, we call them OBGYNs now. Okay, like this is, we've just replaced this. And so I'm not saying this to get people mad. I'm saying this to hopefully convict you a little bit and say, where's your faith? your faith is in pills, potions, lozenges, and every diagnosis and every test that can ever get done, then these stats should concern you. The number three cause of death United States of America is properly prescribed prescription drugs. Our life expectancy has gone down four years in a row. have the sickest kids we've ever had in the history of the world. 40 to 60 percent of kids have chronic disease. Turbo-cancer is on the rise in younger people than ever before. It's not working. It hasn't gone well. The results are in. So what are you chasing? you think it's going to be 30 more vaccines, 50 more pills, 9000 more tests? you really think they'd keep kicking the can down the road and giving you a moving the goalpost and saying, when we figure this out, when we do this, when we do gene, can't this, that, and the other thing. And I'm just telling you, my friends, if your faith is in that, you will be disappointed. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Mm.
Dr.: That's not the answer. God gave you everything that you need to live out the purposes that He gave you. Are there times and places, I'll give a little caveat for our listeners, right? But this will surprise people. Is there acute emergency circumstances in health? Yes. And do you know the number of that, the percentage of our healthcare that's that's about 2%. So my friends, take out your excuses, okay? I'm talking about 90, I'm not talking about if I fall off the ladder and my head's laying on the other side of the road, like, don't give it me an apple, don't adjust me, take me to the hospital, okay? Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: I
Dr.: But for everything else, for everything else, you need to understand who created you, your body's amazing, and you need to not be thinking about all the time, what's wrong with me, what's wrong with me, what's wrong with me, what's wrong with me, what's wrong with me, what's wrong with me, I need a label, I need a label, I need a label, I need to find the guru, I need a label. Spend as much of that time thanking the God that made you, the one that knits you together in your mother's womb, the one that knows the hairs on your head. That's where you should spend your time, at least equally. I mean, if you'd like, really love scaring myself on WebMD, then at least spend as much time learning about the one that actually made you. So I get on my soapbox. I'm sorry, Aubree. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: no, I loved all of that and wow, mean, just this small amount of facts you shared, 2 % is the acute injury, head disassociated for the body type situation and the rest of it is chronic conditions or things that really don't need medication. I'm mind blown. I had no idea it was that low.
Dr.: Yeah, now it's expensive, heart disease, cancer, all these things are considered, not by me, not by Ben making up stats in his basement. These are considered diseases of lifestyle, right? Secretary of Health, Tommy Thompson, in previously had said he called them diseases for dummies. And that was his word, not me. He just meant we cause these things ourselves by how we're taking care of ourselves or instead not taking care of ourselves. there's a great study, I reference it often, but just to... put a bow on that. So was in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The author was Dr. Kelo, K-I-L-O. It was a medical doctor. I can't remember the other author. He was a master's in public health. And it's the title is called Understanding the harmful effects of modern medicine, something like this, right? And what he did is he they just looked at the whole thing in total, just like you'd kind of want. said, Okay, let's just put it all in a bucket. How much we spend, how much we treat and like does it Does it do more harm than good? Now I'll paraphrase their last sentence. Now mind you, these guys weren't out to cause trouble. This is just, they were just saying, we know that drugs can hurt people. know surgeries can hurt people. Like, you know, how bad is it? And their statement at the end was, and it might be exactly this, but it's pretty close to this. It's critical that we understand that many of the assumptions that we're making in healthcare are actually causing more harm than good. And the net, the net of the modern medical enterprise, that was their words, the modern medical enterprise is likely causing more harm than good. So my friends, we sit here and we spend whatever number you wanna use, four, nine, five, two trillion dollars a year in healthcare, and it's causing more harm than good. Let me just put this in a bucket for you. If you bought fire stations to town and all of sudden there was more fires and more people dying of fires, that'd be weird. If you brought schools to town and people were becoming dumber and learning less, that would be weird. So in the name of healthcare, we're spending $5 trillion a year and we're getting sicker. Something's not working. It's not making sense. You're not gonna poison yourself to health. can't medicalize. You can't take medications to fix your lifestyle. It's not your genes fault, okay? So we've gotta wrap our heads around this or we'll just kinda la la la walk down and we find ourselves in a situation like people walk in my office or reach out to you. Hopefully they get to you before, right? That's your journey. Spend a lot of money and a lot of time and a lot of energy trying to get to these answers, okay? And mine as well, the blessing is I've just seen so many people, now I can kind of cut through the chase, Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: I hadn't known the hardcore statistics of I know kids are dying earlier. Adults are dying earlier than ever. Now, I think it's my generation is supposed to be where the kids are going to be passing away before the parents. I mean, that's alarming. And yet we spend more money on health care in the United States than anywhere else in the whole world. So something's wrong. Something's broken. Something's not working.
Dr.: Amen. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: So, a lot.
Dr.: And if you think that more of the same is going to fix it, you've drank the Kool-Aid. If that's what you think is going to happen, the next pill, the next drug, my friends, it's been as old as time. God gave us everything that we needed. We're just not stewarding it well. It's not a surprise if I went out to my car right now and poured a bunch of Coca-Cola in the gas tank and even though my gas meter went up, I don't have the right fuel in there. The body is designed to heal, It just needs, it's like what you say, right? It just needs the things, it doesn't run on air, okay? So it needs the things in there and it doesn't run on poisons very well. It doesn't run on molds very well. We're just doing a really good job of junking it up. And then the problem is we're blaming the body. We're blaming God, right? And then we're just running to man, the one that actually caused the problems to start with, and man's wisdom. And then we think we've quote, done all we can. and we never really removed the interferences. And so in some ways it's not that complicated. It's just we're led to believe it's really hard and really confusing. And because of that, we kind of throw our hands up in the air and we just find ourselves in the system we don't really want to be in. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: so let me ask you this, just thinking about this in my own personal, you know, selfish journey. I spent a lot of years trying to figure out what was wrong so I could then address, you know, the root cause. But for someone that's in that, because a lot of people are sick and they don't know why, they have confusing symptoms. you know, for me, you know, maybe it was digestive stuff. And so I work on healing my gut and then I find out, that's not it. That's not working. And in the end, it was mold. But if you're in the middle of this and you're trying to figure out what's wrong, like what do you suggest?
Dr.: there's different cases. mean, if somebody, comes to me and says, they got a lot of blood in their stool and having a different conversation with them, then, I'd have a patch on my arm that is scaly, so it's a different, there's like you said, okay. So, but in general, my first questions are, Are we doing the basics? Are we getting enough rest? Are we eating clean, real food? Are we moving our bodies? Just the general stuff. What does that look like? If we've checked all those boxes and we're still struggling, then of course we kind of go to the next layer, if you will. what's your mindset like? You just did a great episode on neuroplasticity. and I think what you revealed in that episode is quite brilliant because, a lot of this Aubree, just honestly, we just don't really fully understand, right? It's just miraculous. I mean, just the body heals. don't really, this is the hard part. We don't really even have to know, right? And even a matter of fact, some of the things we think we know, we don't really know. Like we think we know, but we don't, you don't know. Okay. I mean, I've had people in my office, for example, where they'll come in with a crazy condition and we start adjusting them. And maybe I took X-rays of them and man they just get these amazing results and then I go do like a re-exam and on the re-exam, like the tests I did, nothing changed. Okay? But they are healed. Like so it's not because I got their spine straight, because I didn't, okay? I had a patient one time who hadn't had a period in nine years, okay? She was a elite athlete, she was a runner and very often times very thin, maybe it happens in gymnastics, right? Sometimes it gets so tiny they won't even cycle anymore, right? This young girl had not, this woman had not cycled for nine years and she was really kind of at her wits end. She wanted to have a family, right? She wanted to be able to have babies. and we had worked on her for a while and she was struggling and I ended up doing a test on her, hormone test. And she came in and I was going to go over the results and her hormones were, and this is like a mid twenties woman and her hormones were of a woman in menopause. Okay. So I'm like feeling bad, right? I'm like, my gosh, I don't really, I just don't wanna be the guy that has to tell her this, right, kind of thing. So thank God, as you can tell, I don't have a problem talking, okay? So in this instance, God shut my mouth, because I just was actually, I just didn't wanna have to tell her, right? So I said, hey, how you doing? And she says, hey, Dr. before you go into the results, I just have to tell you I'm pregnant. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: My gosh.
Dr.: So this is the tension that we walk in Aubree, right? Where sometimes God just heals. This woman never actually cycled. She had nine years not a cycle and she got pregnant. Like it doesn't even make sense. And I have the results of her hormones in front of me like she's not even alive. And she's got three kids now. I take care of her family, beautiful people. And I say this because I want to encourage people to not give so much authority to a test. you have to have a proper perspective on them, because you can misunderstand things. before you go spend $10,000 on testing, get your lifestyle in order. Get your foundation in order. to he that is trusted with little will be given more. Like this is how we need to do this. And so there's no replacement for the basics of healthy living, which I'm sure you talk about a lot and I talk about, I'm not gonna revisit them here. And then if that's not working, I guess maybe that is the value we have sometimes like you, right? Like when you talk to somebody, you might be like, know what? That one, have brain fog, fatigue, like da-da-da-da-da. And your house flooded last year. Like, you know what I mean? Like you can cut through some of the... And you may not be right like sometimes right still weird you do the whole thing you're like hey praise God It's not that but I try I'm like you I think I try to not have people go down the most expensive wild goose chase right with somebody right first and let's just say like hey Let's clear out the basic stuff in my world as a chiropractor then, you know check the nerve system We do heart rate variability testing in our office and make sure the body's responding and adapting and adjustments and then you know, but I'll say this look as an example so my kids are 19 and and 16 They've never had a drug They've never had a pharmaceutical. They've never, I'm not gonna say, they've never had Tylenol. They've never had a vaccine. None of it. And they're alive and well. Full speed ahead, rockin' and rollin'. I don't say that to, it's not a prideful statement, I'm not bragging. I share that, it's the grace of God, but I share that to say just so you know, that's possible. My kids have gotten sick and they have the boogers and they puke and they get the flu. This happens, right? But my approach to it is not, How do I stifle that symptom? don't live in fear of a fever. Matter of fact, I'm thankful for a fever. I don't get scared when they're puking. I'm thankful that they're puking. don't like it. I'm not like, this is awesome. I can clean up puke. Okay, right? Time to wash the sheets. I'm saying, how amazing is it that God, the wisdom that God put on my body knows to raise my temperature a few degrees. to burn off viruses, bacteria, pathogens, and restore all, or it says this stuff in your side of your hand, we gotta get out and we gotta get it out fast. How amazing is that? But we've turned it into many of the things that we treat as symptoms and problems are actually the wisdom of the body healing you, and we try to stifle it. There's studies that they've published where they find people that actually take fever-lowering medications, things like Tylenol. Actually, now why do most people say They say the same things. I can't watch my kids suffer. which always is odd to me because I'm always like, do you think I'm walking around my house being like, I love watching my kids suffer? Like Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Right?
Dr.: actually, but, what they don't know is that that actually lowering the fever, there are studies that actually show it increases the risk of pneumonia and increases hospitalizations. So you're saying I don't want my kid to be sick. I'm saying me neither. That's why I'm going to let their body do what it's designed to do. And I'm not going to lower their fever because when I lower their fever artificially, I'm actually stopping the body from doing the healing that it's designed to do. And it sticks around longer leads to increased risk of complications and hospitalizations and pneumonia. So. But like, okay, but you've been drummed into so much fear, right? That you think you're a bad human, because you don't give your kid a synthetic chemical to try to trump the wisdom of the body. Like, I just, I've got way too much faith in the, that somehow right now this body that's breathing my heart and breathing my lungs and seeing my eyes, like I don't think a little thing that looks like an is what my body needs to make that thing work better. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: So if you're someone that is in the midst, let's say, you know, people that are listening to my show, most of the time they've been trapped in chronic illness for a really long time. They've done a lot of things. They've prayed. A lot of them are very faith forward and they're praying. And I'll use myself as the guinea pig here. I prayed for almost a decade for answers and asked God for wisdom. And I guess prematurely assumed that some of the, I thought were doors opening were from God. And in fact, they weren't. What do you suggest to someone like that that is just so, I mean, there was a point in my journey where I started to doubt, you know, I definitely had fear, but I started to
Dr.: Mm-mm. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: doubt that I was hearing from God, that I was meant to heal, that I even had the false assumption that he wasn't gonna heal me on the side of heaven. Like maybe, you know, he doesn't promise that I'm gonna be healed on the side of heaven and maybe I'm meant to be sick. That really plays with your mind, obviously. It's not helpful. But what do you suggest to someone that is in the midst of that style of journey?
Dr.: Yeah, these are great questions. some of them we don't know the answer. There's not an easy bucket answer there, okay? Because you and I both know I had a dear friend of mine pass away last year, chiropractor Dr. Mike. I love him more than anything and watched him die of cancer, right? And, you know, he's a chiropractor. I don't know if we live forever, but we're not supposed to die like that, right? And so I walked through this and of course family members and friends like you have, right? They just have on you know, unbelievable things happen to them. I also say this, you know, just to kind of talk through this, you know, people also die of other things. Okay. People fall off ladders, people get in car accidents, you know, things happen. And so sometimes when we get into health space, we talk a lot about the these types of things, right? The preventable things, the disease of lifestyles, toxicities, which are important. But I also just try to remind us like there's people that died. you know, not because I didn't do enough burpees or enough, you know, have enough green smoothie. Okay, right. And I don't, I don't mean that to be funny. I just mean, let's be honest. Okay, right. And there's, there's, there's going to be some questions that we'll wrestle with until we, until we, you know, perfectly healed in heaven. However, to that person that you're, that you're referencing, I would say a couple of things and there's this two kind of scriptural examples that I often use. The one is when Jesus meets the man at the well, right? And he asks him a question. He says, do you want to be well? Now that can almost sound offensive to somebody that's walking through what you've been through, right? Or like when I was sick, what do mean do I want to get well? Of course I want to get well. Like what are you talking about? And there's another translation for that word apparently where it is also going to be translated, do you want to be whole? All right, and I kind of like that one better. I just think it makes a little bit more meaningful sense there. And of course, what's interesting is the guy, the person's response to Jesus' direct question was an excuse. That was his response. He asked him, do you want to be well? Do you want to be whole? And he basically just, that's when he says, I mean, can't, everybody else gets there before I can. When the water's stir, I can't even get there. I find that fascinating. I find Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah.
Dr.: that fascinating. So one of my questions when I'm sitting knee to knee with a patient usually for the first time, No matter what they're walking through, I'll just look them in the eyes and as straight as I can and I just say, you know, do you think you can heal? You believe you can heal. And it may sound like stupid, but I'm just telling you, done this a lot. Like many have never even thought about it. And in the minute they do, they don't even, then they'll offer me not even an excuse, like, well, I mean, but if I can just, can't get to the specialist and I can't, I don't have good insurance and I don't have enough money and I tried this and I don't know. my mama had it too. And all of these stories. Right? And so a lot of times, and I love Jesus' response, he doesn't even acknowledge his excuses, he says, pick up your mat and walk. Right Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah.
Dr.: now I'm not trying to oversimplify this or over-spiritualize this, but I had an experience in practice, I was driving home one night, I didn't always practice the way that I do, and I've never heard the audible voice of God, but I've heard God speak, or put things in your heart. What I really heard him say is, know Ben, you talk a lot about healing but you don't talk a lot about the healer. And so, Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Mmm.
Dr.: let us not forget this. Our lives are to be a burnt offering poured out for the Lord. Our lives are for the glory of God. He didn't put me here to be comfortable. He didn't put me here for my own selfish desires. He put me here to be a representation of Him and to represent Him well. And He will do that however He sees fit. So there's a wrestling in there. Now the other story that I contrast that with is I believe it's Luke 13 and that's the woman sitting in, says that she was bent over for 18 years. And I probably liked it because I'm a chiropractor. I'm like, I can fix that one, right? The stiff neck people and bent over people. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: I can beat you.
Dr.: But, you know, so it says she comes in and she's sitting in the back of the synagogue. And I have to believe I get a little emotional when I think about this. I have to believe that, I don't know what doesn't say, but. I have to believe maybe she gave up. mean, 18 years bent over. You just kind of see her slipping in the back being like, I'm just going through the motions. And in this story, Jesus himself is preaching. It's him in the flesh. can't even fathom what that would have looked like. Okay. And it says, and I love this because there's lots of stories in the scriptures, right? Of reaching for the hem of the robe or people crying out to him. But in this instance, It says, He sees her and He calls her up. It says, He casts out a spirit of infirmity, lays hands on her, she's healed, she stands up and she begins to praise the Lord. Here's what I would want you to know. I want you to know that He sees you. Nothing has... fallen through the cracks. didn't forget about you. didn't stop mad at you. He's not teaching you a lesson with thunderbolts and disease. He's sovereign and he's those things. But even the things that the enemy would use against us actually run the risk of increasing our faith and they use for the purposes of God. So no matter what side of that you're on, you're on the journey of trying to figure out what's going on. You've tried it all and you're sitting in the back with your arms crossed thinking there's nothing that can be done. My friends, I would want you to know that there's hope. It's not too late. If you're breathing, you can heal. I would just want you, not from me, not because you're listening to my voice today. Those are the promises of the Lord. Those are in His Word and we need to read that Word. Sometimes there's spiritual issues you need to deal with. We need to be wise and understand. It says the first thing that Jesus did is he cast out a spirit of infirmity. That's interesting. That's interesting. Okay, so there's more to healing than just how we eat and how we move and how we sleep and if we get adjusted and all these things that we do, okay, right? But again, I've seen too many cases of people where it's something different than that. Something that you said earlier. You how you said, like with mold, you can't really see it. I mean, maybe there's enough of it or something, right? But for the most part, it's invisible, right? And so, some of these things are invisible to emotions, oppression, work of the enemy, these types of things, okay? Spiritual issues, they're in powers and principalities, but they're real, okay? And so, again, I don't walk around looking for devils, but I deal with them when I need to, okay? And so, that may be an area that you have not explored, right? You're like, I'm... You mean perfect. And just so you know, God does it however He wants. Okay? And He will not manipulate God. He doesn't owe you anything. I have another very dear friend of mine, one of the most special people in the world to me, and he's got a brain tumor right now. Right? If you saw him, you'd say he's like the picture of health, beautiful family, you know, loves the Lord. he doesn't owe us anything this life is a wisp. Okay, it's a breath. It's important. It matters He made I don't know why he did it entirely but he did and so it matters and we're just steward it Well, we're to walk it out, but we also let us not make health an idol Let's not Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Mm.
Dr.: even make our own health an idol I'm not talking to be willy-nilly and don't care and drink, you know Mountain Dew so I'm talking about I'm just simply saying Your life has meaning God made you specifically you specifically he made you his plans and purposes for you It's important, right? And we want to walk those out. So I know I got a little off on a tangent there, but thanks for letting me share that. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: I loved all of it. this is a personal story, but I had a very similar type of conviction from God about that idol of pain. And really for at that point, have been years of God, why are you not healing me? Like, what have I done wrong? What have I, you know, I've done everything. I'm faithful and blah, blah. And he very clearly said to me during this personal time, do you trust me with everything?
Dr.: Mm. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Like everything was bold. It was yelling and I'm like, everything. What is he talking about? You know, I trust him with my my finances and my kids' lives and I've done, and it hit me that health, my own personal health was this idol that I had become obsessed with.
Dr.: Mm. Mm. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Help me find the answer, help me get well, help me. And I had to let go of it and surrender to the fact that maybe, maybe or maybe not I'm healed on this side of heaven. I know I have the promise of a whole body on the other side, but until then, can I just trust God to care for me in whatever condition I am here?
Dr.: Mm. Mm. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: And as soon as I did that, it was so eye-opening to me to be able to surrender this instant peace fleshed over me. And that's really where I did start, God really did start moving in and healing me in these areas that were stuck, but it was my own flesh. It was my own sin that was trapped in this, I've got to figure it out, this ego, I need to figure it out. I can't let go of my health. I have to be well here. I can't imagine that you would have this plan for me. It wasn't my decision.
Dr.: Mm. Mm. And it's wrapped up in good things, right? I mean, I don't know you super well, but Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yes.
Dr.: you know, kiddos and stuff like, and a wife, like, you know, I just want to be a good wife. I want to be good to my kids. I want to be here for my, like all of these, like, it's not like you're saying so I can go out and raise Kane in town. It was like, so it sounds, can be confusing in our spirits, but until you get to that place you just described, I think, I think we'll struggle, right? And I think that's what I meant earlier when you these things exposed parts of our life. saw it with COVID, meaning we saw like fear that we maybe didn't know was there, right? We saw maybe how much we loved the world, right? And then all of a sudden you can't go to Target anymore and you're sad about it, right? It might be a problem. I remember Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yes.
Dr.: we just learned a lot of lessons about our own life during that time. Like, wow, we just spent a lot of time and energy and money on stupid stuff, right? And apparently, like, what are we doing here? anyway, yeah, it's really powerful, Aubree. I think what you shared and I know it's hard to hear that sometimes, Because it sounds like you're shaming somebody, you know what I mean? Like not you, but you know, like what? So you think, oh you say, I don't trust God enough, you're saying I'm surrendered and it's like, what if I don't even believe in God? What Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yes.
Dr.: does that mean, right? And I'd say, you know what, even if you don't believe in God, he believes in you, One of my other favorite stories in the Bible is when the soldier gets his ear cut off when they're arresting Jesus. Jesus puts the ear back on and you say, that's a weird story to love. Well, I don't know for sure, but I don't think that that soldier probably was a believer before, but I bet he was afterwards when his ear got put back on his head. You know God heals in the rain falls and the sinner and the saint the saved on the unsaved He heals you even if you don't believe in him when your broken bone heals He heals it you don't have to believe it was him the medical term We call it is just homeostasis or innate healing or inborn healing or whatever word secular wants to put on to it That's fine. but just know that the healing is not dependent on that although I would tell you there are examples in the scriptures where your faith in the healer did matter. very Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Mm-hmm.
Dr.: specifically in certain times, he does say, by your faith you are healed. So there are times where that is the thing, just so people do understand that. this may be a way, gosh I'm emotional today, this may be a way of him drawing you in and exposes Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yep. Yep.
Dr.: things. You've heard these stories of people that they quote, you know, find God in these moments like this, right? When they're crying out, when they've reached the end of their rope, when they have no place left to go, when they've tried everything, all right? And that's the graciousness of God. even though, and I did a podcast on a while ago called The Theology of Pain, and I had a gentleman on there that suffers with RSD, the reflux Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: I see.
Dr.: of pain, right? And it's just super complicated. an amazing man, loves the Lord, but he shares his journey. And it'd be worth listening to for somebody that's not, I'll just tell you one quick story. I know we've already got to wind this show down, but he was laying in bed one night. I mean, this is like debilitating pain, right? And he's actually an illustrator. So like he uses his arms and his hands and that's just all this stuff. And he's a dad and he's laying in bed and he's just having a really horrible night. And he's just praying out to God and to all the things you described, right? Just to heal me and just kind of like that. And all of sudden you have this Wash over him and he was he hadn't it was he was healed. He had no pain Okay, Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Thanks
Dr.: so he's just laying there like he hadn't experienced this in X amount of years and his wife's next to me He's like, almost like do I wake her up to an Isaac? I just like they're crying and I'm just thanking the Lord and and then said for about five minutes Then the pain came back. And he said, in this moment, this was so powerful to me. He said, in that moment, he goes, I realized, okay, he can heal me. He can heal me. He just did it. He just showed me Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah.
Dr.: he can. It's almost like doubting Thomas, like till I see the hands and I put my hands on his side and he showed up to Thomas. He was like, well, here you go, All right, did that for Thomas so we can all see that example. So for my friend, it was good for him. He goes, okay, okay, I get it. He can heal me. So there must be purpose. beyond what I understand going on here. And so it just allowed him to move on through that. He no longer was like, can I, why don't you, whatever. He's like, I can, I can do it anytime I want, anytime that it's necessary already. And so here I sit here and I just think about, you know, we can miss so many things because we get kind of stuck on a certain thing, right? Like I'm tired this and just want to have a good night and no headache. And listen, one day, even Lazarus who was raised from the dead. eventually died again. We're all going to go home someday. And we don't know when that is. We don't need to know. So we need to spend more time understanding our purposes here on Earth than it is just striving to have some idealistic health where we never have a pain and never have a whatever. A lot of people every day, my hips and shoulders hurt most days. That's what happens Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Hmm.
Dr.: when you take care of a bunch of people. It's okay. don't get mad about matter of fact. It's a kind of an honor to me it reminds me of just my service to people it's good You know when you have blisters on your hands from from working hard, right? It's it's just a reminder of what you do and so serving people and Loving on people and pouring yourself out for people best you can right is is an honor It's an honor to do that. So I know we went long here Aubree, but it's really been a pleasure to talk to you Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: It's been amazing. I've listened to your podcast for a while now, but I always feel so incredibly inspired uplifted, encouraged. I just I adore listening to you and it was such a hopeful episode. So I really thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I know, I know everyone that heard you is like, I've got to have more of him. So where can they find you tell us you know, a little bit more about where they can find you and get in touch with you.
Dr.: Yeah, the Design to Heal podcast, if they like listening, then that would be great for show. And we're going to have you on our show, super excited about that. So they can come listen to you over there too. So that's just on all the major platforms. And then I have a website, called designed to heal.com. wrote a devotional by the same name called designed to heal.com. And it's just a daily, I took all the healing scriptures from Genesis to Revelation and, just put them in order for people to be encouraged. so it's 365 of that. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Well, Dr. Ben, thank you again. I really appreciate it. This has been just an amazing, amazing conversation. So thank you for coming on.
Dr.: You're welcome. Thank you.
