90 | Taking Binders and Still Sick? What Actually Heals Mold Illness with Dr. Andrew Campbell

September 8, 202654 min 6sEpisode 90

This episode answers whether binders actually work for mold illness, and Dr. Andrew Campbell, a physician with over 45 years treating mold and mycotoxin related conditions, says human studies do not support them even though they show effects in animals. Aubree Felderhoff talks with Dr. Campbell about blood serum testing versus urine testing, mast cell activation, and why finding and leaving the source of exposure matters more than any supplement.

What You Will Learn in This Episode

  • Dr. Campbell states that studies show binders work in animals like sheep, piglets, and rats, but not in human studies.
  • Dr. Campbell recommends blood serum testing over urine testing because urine measures metabolites and excretion rather than what is currently circulating in the body.
  • Blood serum testing can show levels of 14 mycotoxins, whether exposure is ongoing, and whether mast cell activation is present, according to Dr. Campbell.
  • Dr. Campbell describes a study where 93% of 383 tested supplements were contaminated with heavy metals enough to potentially damage the liver, and he has patients stop all supplements for at least three weeks before starting any treatment.
  • Dr. Campbell explains that the first rule of toxicology is removing the person from the toxin, since sources can include homes, cars, workplaces, gyms, or churches, not just the obvious places.
  • Dr. Campbell notes that mold spores are 2 to 4 microns compared to human hair at about 100 microns, allowing them to reach deep into the lungs and sinuses.

The studies in humans show that binders don't work in humans. They work in sheep, piglets, friar chickens, rats, mice, rabbits, but not in humans.

Andrew Campbell, M.D.

You have to get away from the source first. Finding the source is a huge problem. Huge problem.

Andrew Campbell, M.D.

It's a toxin. It's not a little virus, it's not a little bacteria, it's a toxin. How much mercury is it okay to be around?

Andrew Campbell, M.D.

You want to believe in God, but everybody else has got to show you the evidence. Show me a published study.

Questions This Episode Answers

Do binders actually work for mold toxins?

According to Dr. Campbell, the studies on binders were done in animals like sheep, piglets, and rats, not in humans. He points out that there is no published human data showing binders work, which is why he does not recommend them. His approach instead focuses on removing the source of exposure and supporting the body with targeted nutrition and antifungal treatment guided by testing.

Why did my urine mycotoxin test come back negative when I know I was living in mold?

Dr. Campbell explained that urine tests often measure metabolites rather than the actual mycotoxin, and different labs use different cutoffs, so the same sample sent to three labs can give three different results. He also noted that mycotoxins like ochratoxin bind tightly to albumin in the blood and are reabsorbed by the kidneys, so they are not easily excreted in urine even when someone is very sick. This is part of why he considers blood serum testing more reliable for seeing what is currently in the body.

What symptoms might actually be caused by mold that doctors usually blame on something else?

Dr. Campbell listed chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and chronic Lyme as the top three conditions he sees tied to mold exposure, along with autism, learning disabilities, and behavioral issues in children. He also mentioned that published research has linked mycotoxins to MS, Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's, and various autoimmune diseases, though he was clear these findings come from specific studies rather than his own guarantee of what any one person is experiencing.

How do I figure out where my mold exposure is actually coming from?

Finding the source can take real detective work since standard home inspections sometimes miss it entirely. Dr. Campbell shared stories of a woman whose two mold inspections came back clean until she tore up her own tile and found mold underneath, and a family who discovered a punctured pipe behind a wall in a brand new home. He also pointed out that exposure is not limited to the home. It can come from a car, a gym, a workplace, or even a place like a church you visit weekly.

Can I get sick from mold even if my house is clean?

Yes, according to Dr. Campbell, repeated exposure in other places can add up even if your home is not the source. He gave the example of someone going to the gym four or five times a week and pointed out that since mycotoxins are toxic molecules rather than living organisms, there is no truly safe low level of exposure over time, similar to how there is no acceptable amount of mercury exposure.

Why do I react to every supplement, smell, and food now?

Dr. Campbell attributed this heightened reactivity to mast cell activation, where instead of just releasing histamine like a typical allergic response, mast cells start sending out signals that create inflammation in the brain, gut, and skin. He also noted that many people in this state have been taking large numbers of supplements that may be contaminated or unnecessary, so his approach starts with stopping everything for a few weeks and rebuilding slowly with nutrition first.

My husband tested positive for mycotoxins but has no symptoms, does he still need treatment?

Dr. Campbell said yes, because everyone's immune system responds differently to the same exposure, even between family members or twins. He described cases where some family members in the same moldy home felt only mildly affected while others had severe symptoms, and noted that men in particular often deny or minimize what they are experiencing until it becomes serious.

How do I know if I can trust a mold recovery program or supplement company?

Dr. Campbell's advice was to ask for published studies rather than relying on social media opinions or testimonials, and to check whether someone's credentials come from an actual recognized medical institution rather than their own website or course. He specifically cautioned against tests like the visual contrast test, saying there is nothing in the medical literature supporting it as diagnostic. His broader point was to look for people who have real experience going through recovery themselves and can show evidence behind what they recommend.

Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Binders. Well, I'm so sorry. The studies in humans show that binders don't work in humans. They work in sheep, piglets, friar chickens, rats, mice, rabbits, but not in humans. Why should a human being take something that's meant for an animal? I'm not a vet, so I don't know the answer to the animal kingdom, but I do know as a medical doctor the answers to they say it doesn't work, so why binders? Cholesteramine and all these other things. Show me one study in medical school. I was taught one thing, and it was drummed into our heads. And God we trust. Everyone else has to show data.

Whether you're dealing with unexplained symptoms and no real answers, or you know mold is your problem, you've done everything right, and yet you're still not better. This podcast is for you. I'm Aubree, and I spent 12 years struggling with mold toxicity. before finally learning why nothing was working. Mold wasn't my only problem. Not knowing how to heal from it was. This is where guessing ends and real healing begins. Let's get started. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Hey, before we get into today's episode, I just wanted to say, if you or someone that you love is dealing with mold illness or symptoms that look like they could be related to mold, and you're not sure where to start, you're feeling overwhelmed with even the thought of what to do next, you don't have to keep piecing this together alone. I offer a free discovery call where we can talk through where you are right now and what would actually help you get unstuck and move towards healing. Head over to moldfreemom.com and grab a free discovery call. See you there.

Aubree: Welcome back to Mold Free Mom. And you guys are in for a treat. My guest today is Dr. Andrew W. Campbell, and his story is remarkable from his very start. He graduated from a Swiss preparatory school at age 14, first in his class, and then finished his pre-med studies in only three years. He went on to become one of the true pioneers in mold and mycotoxin medicine. For more than 45 years, he has treated thousands of patients. With some of the most complex conditions out there, illnesses caused by toxic exposures like molds, mycotoxins, Lyme, pesticides, and industrial chemicals. He has lectured nationally and internationally for over 30 years, including at Oxford University and Harvard. And he has published more than a hundred studies in medical journals and textbook chapters. He is editor in chief of several medical journals. He served as medical director at the Medical Center for Immune and Toxic Disorders. For more than 25 years and he is fluent in five languages. Simply put, this is the doctor that other doctors learn from. And personally, he is a huge part of my own healing story. So I am especially honored to have him on here today. Welcome, Dr. Campbell. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Thank you for having me. I appreciate it.

Aubree: Absolutely. Thank you for being on. So I know all of the massive impact that you've had in the mold industry, but I would love to just take us back a little bit and find out how you got into the line of mold and mycotoxins, what pulled you into this work. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: When I was the medical director for the Center of Immune Toxic Disorders, I saw patients from everywhere. This is Houston, it's a major medical center. And I noticed a certain amount of patients who had the same symptoms as others. And these were women. They were young, some were young, some were middle-aged, some were older, they were all all sizes, all backgrounds, etc. But why did they all have? brain fog, headaches, joint aches and pains, et cetera, et cetera. This is before computers or anything like that. So it was staying up after work and going through the charts looking for what did they have in common. Also going down, I at that time, I think yeah, I was faculty at University of Texas Medical School, and across the street is Baylor University. So there they have this big library, you know, as Cop making copies of studies, et cetera. And it came dawned on me that they all had one commonality, they had breast implants. so I had to write back then letters to medical centers all over the United States, Mayo, Cleveland Clinic, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, et cetera, et cetera. And I found two doctors who had noticed the same thing, both of them in Los Angeles, one an MD, Dr. Brout Bar, and the other one a PhD, Doctor Bojdani, who is the head of immunosciences laboratory. So we started looking at these ladies and publishing studies. We published about twenty-four studies in three years. And then I was called up to National Institutes of Health to present all my studies and the head of the American Cancer Society was there too, because cancers had been found common in breast implants, a certain type of lymphoma. And of course, six months later, after that visit, they shut down the manufacturing of breast implants in the United States. That's because implants, breast implants had been in existence since the early 60s, and the FDA, when it was formed much later, they grandfathered implants in without having to show any safety, et cetera. The issue became that women would remove the implants and they get marginally better, maybe 10%, 20%, 25% better, but not completely well. So I found a doctor, PhD in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Pierre Blay, who was an expert in medical implantable devices such as breast implants, hip implants, knee implants, any kind of an implant. And he would examine them and then write a big report on what was wrong with them and how to improve them. And invited him down to Houston. And I in our discussions, I said, why don't the women get better after removal? He says, because of mold. I said, what do you mean because of mold? He says, there's mold in the implants. I said, how did they get in there during the manufacturing process? So I started treating women for the molds. And of course, what happened is the clouds parted and the sun started shining through and they got well. And then people started coming to see me. You helped my mom, my sister, my my wife, my girlfriend, my neighbor, et cetera, with mold. We think we are sick from mold because it's growing in our house. So I have to go back to the library, start researching all over again, and found that there's a whole world out there regarding mold. Starting back a long time ago, the first problem with Stachybatris growing on wallpaper was published by a doctor in Prague, Czechoslovakia in the late 1800s. So it's not new. and it's mentioned in Leviticus chapter 14 in the Bible. And you know, God told Moses and Aaron, well, that what he said applies today. So that's how I got into this, and then of course, publishing about this so that other doctors can read it in medical journals. the issue is a lot of doctors don't have time nowadays because they spend and it this has been published, they spend fifty percent of their time filling out paperwork for the insurance companies. They don't have that 50% instead of going towards reading, goes towards paperwork to satisfy the insurance companies. I saw thousands and thousands of patients. from all backgrounds from all over the the planet. And a lot of people mistake it for climate. Well I have patients in an Arizona where, you know, it's lizards and cacti and snakes. No trees or ver well, not in all but you know what I mean. And I have patients in Dubai. You leave the city of Dubai, you're in the middle of the desert. It's like Lawrence of Arabia. No trees, no nothing growing, no shrubs. And so why in Dubai? It has nothing to do with the weather, it has to do with construction. When I was in prep school in Switzerland, my brother was an architect. It was an architectural school. And he stayed in Switzerland. He's an architect there. he's an older brother. And he I asked him, why do we have this issue when he came to visit here? And he says it's construction. I said, what do you mean? He says, well, you use wood, brick, cement block, drywall, all those absorb water and moisture. So that's what the promise. I said, well, what did people use before? He says, stone. He says, nothing grows into stone. It grows on the surface of stone, you wipe it off and it's gone. But nothing grows into stone. Then he reminded me of when as young people we our parents would take us to Amsterdam. The whole country is below sea level, they have dogs for that. And there's canals all over Amsterdam. And the houses were built anywhere from the fourteenth, fifteen hundreds, sixteen hundreds, seventeen hundreds. They've been there for hundreds of years, no mold. They're all built of stone. So that is the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey used to say a long time ago.

Aubree: Ha ha ha That's an incredible story, Dr. Campbell. I didn't realize it went that far back. So I know you've seen thousands and thousands of patients and you've healed thousands. What are some of the things besides breast implant illness, what are s some of the top symptoms that you see associated that people have no idea is mold, Andrew Campbell, M.D.: chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic Lyme, I would say are the top three, and children autism, learning disabilities, behavioral abnormalities, pans, pandas, etc. in middle aged adults it's mainly diseases like MS, multiple sclerosis. Studies published sixteen years ago by Rutgers University School of Medicine, New Jersey showed that a lot of patients with MS have mycotoxins, in particular gliotoxin, in their blood. So guess what you do? Very simple. You remove them from the moldy place, you treat them for six to eight months, they're back to normal. And I've done this time and time again. It's not some mysterious concoction that I cooked up in the kitchen in my garage. It's plain tr simple truth, and it's published. Then later on, there's a lot of the re degenerative, neurodegenerative disorders. These are disorders like Alzheimer. Again, 70%. They did a study on Alzheimer patients at autopsy after they had died. At every part of the brain, including the cerebral spinal fluid, had mold in them. They did the same study a few months later at a different medical center with ALS, Lugarig's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. 95%. And there are studies that now show that Lugaric's disease, emyotrophic lateral sclerosis, five to ten percent is genetic. The rest is all due to mycotoxins and moles. Parkinson's. Same story. So it's right there. You know, it's not some mysterious, I don't know what. The studies, you read it, okay, here's what the what they found, here's what they did, and it went away. Okay, well, I can do that too. It's very simple.

Aubree: Why do you think with this many people that are misdiagnosed that it is missed entirely by doctors and they're they're treating MS and they're treating Lukarids and they're not looking at mycotoxins as the underlying problem? Andrew Campbell, M.D.: for the same reason. They're doing paperwork. They're not having the time to read. A few of them do. And they write studies too. They publish in medical journals. So, you know, people like me, I've I continue publishing. My last publication was two months ago. There's going to be another one later on in a couple more months. You know, and so on and so forth. So that there's a s some that do publish. And there's a for example, autoimmune disorders. There's over a hundred types of autoimmune diseases. These can be talked these these can be caused by mycotoxins. And these publications came out 10, 12 years ago. You know, UCLA, my studies, etc. So what do you do? I've had patients who came to see me with threumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, etc. They're fine though.

Aubree: Completely gone. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: This big complicated secret that I have. It's out there. All you gotta do is read it.

Aubree: All you have to do is read it. That's incredible. Okay. So I'm I'm curious and I know the answer to this, but I know a lot of my audience doesn't yet. What do you feel is the most accurate and precise test? Cause there's, you know, so many different quote unquote ways to test for mold and mycotoxins. But what is the best way to test to know? Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Yeah, there's a huge amount of misinformation. And, you know, people go by Dr. Google, Dr. Facebook, you know, which are not authentic. They're just opinions and and anecdotes. My Aunt Edna used this and it made her better. You should take it too. You know, well, that's not medical science or anything. the best and most accurate tests has been around for well over 20 years. And it's the blood serum test. done by my micolab. why blood serum? Because number one, published studies compared urine versus blood serum, and they said the urine is an excretion. It's what's left the body from what you may have eaten that day. the FDA and thirty-four other governments that have signed on to this, including the EFSA, European Food Safety Authority, et cetera, et cetera. They allow up to about ten parts per billion. To visualize that, I asked a scientist, because I'm a visual, I want to see that part per billion. He said, take a thousand football fields, cover them with golf balls. Take out one golf ball, that's a part per billion. I said, I can see that. Okay. So, you know, milk, the kind you buy in a carton from the supermarket, wherever you live, contains 90%, 91% contains anywhere from one to four mycotoxins. This is what you excrete. Your body can take those parts per billion. Every time you clean a bathroom, you clean a kitchen. You use phosphates to wash clothes with. All these chemicals, but they're small amounts. So you excrete them, the body gets rid of them, usually through urine. For example, okro toxin is not an unusual mycotoxin. A lot of people have it in their blood. If they're living in a moldy environment, it binds to human albumin, the number one circulating protein in the human body, and binds or protoxin binds to albumin at 99.8%. And you cannot excrete a protein unless you have renal failure, kidney failure. That's how we measure. When they do the urine dipstick, they always check for protein. You're not supposed to have any protein leave. And so it's reabsorbed by the kidneys, both by passive and active transport. Yet they always find it in urine. How is that possible? Very simple. They don't measure the mycotoxin. They measure the metabolites of mycotoxin. What does that mean? So if you have lunch and in that lunch there's a few asparagus and you eat those asparagus, the rest of the afternoon urine will smell like asparagus. You're excreting the metabolite. That's supposed that's how the body so is supposed to work. So regarding that, we the studies show that the most accurate, precise test is the blood serum test. FDA approved and all that, it's been around for 20 some odd years, about 25, 26 years, actually. So there's all these so-called experts who have never published anything, who have never taught at any medical school, who have never who are not invited to lecture at major conferences internationally or nationally. But they're experts because of their website says so. And you can take their you can do their this and that, and then they tell you what to take. Binders.

Aubree: Yes. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: There's no data. Not one. And Binders. Everyone else has to show data. the last one, the big joke of them all, is that the HLADR genetic test, 25%

Aubree: Yes. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: of Americans are supposed to have this gene. Well, 25% is 82 million or so Americans have this gene. That there isn't a single publication about this gene? There's nothing relating it to molds or micro. Toxins and any in the National Library of Medicine, which is PubMed, thirty-two million published studies, none of it zip. So there's a lot of misinformation. Let me just give you an example. Eighty-two million Americans.

Aubree: Mm-hmm. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: No one's it's not written about, it's not taught in medical schools, etc. But there's another disease that's thirty-two million, fifty million less. that everybody in the world knows about, has heard about it since ancient times. It's called diabetes.

Aubree: Wow. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Now you get it.

Aubree: Yep. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: So you do the blood test because the blood test tells you several things. Number one, it tells you how much of each of 14 mycotoxins is currently at this time in your body. Second, it tells you if it's in your environment or not. because where you live or work? Has it or because you lived in a place or worked in a place previously that had it. And third, it tells you if you're having mast cell activation or not. And that's important as well. The urine test doesn't tell you any of these things. The other part of it is the urine test, the three labs that use it, have different methods of measuring mycotoxins in urine. And you can send One sample to three different from one the same person to three different labs because this lab, the cutoff is here and there, this is positive, this is negative, this one is a different positive, negative, and this one is a different positive. So you can send and get three different responses. And how is it they always find okrotoxin?

Aubree: That is crazy. You know, Dr. Campbell, before I found you, I was on the bandwagon of doing the shoemaker protocol and all these other things that weren't proven. And I did the urine test and my test showed nothing, zero. Have you seen that happen? What what would cause that? I'm just so clogged up. I mean, it showed that I was perfectly healthy because I had no mycotoxins in my blood yet. I was living in mold and very sick. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Very sick, yes. I mean, I've seen over the years all kinds of people. I've never seen the same person for one I I have yet to see a person come to me with the first time. You're the first doctor I'm seeing for MOLT. They've

Aubree: Yeah. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: already been to I don't know how many doctors have spent tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of dollars on dubious tests. supplements that that's their supplement plan. There's no medical evidence behind it. On wasted and the the life. I have young people, you're a young person. You know these people are years that are lost. You can't go back and get those years back. So again, I think that there's a lot of misinformation. A lot of studies show that there's a lot of hoax in supplements and misinformation about that. A study that came out three years ago now, they took 60 of the most commonly purchased vitamins and supplements to a laboratory. To test them for what's if what's on the label is actually in the bottle. 11% had in the bottle what's on the label. 40% had nothing in the bottle that it stated on the label. In March of this year, 2026, another study on 383 supplements, 93% was contaminated with heavy metals. Enough to damage the liver. people come to me with shopping bags of supplements and they're sick. The first thing I do is stop the supplements for at least three weeks. Before you start any treatment or anything else, you gotta clean this stuff out of you. It's bad. when I started this, there was very few supplements around. I mean, there was B twelve in a capsule. Well, that's it. And then you had one a day vitamin. It was very limited, you know. It was like three items on a shelf at a drugstore. But today there's a lot of choices. And so you've got to be really careful in which you choose. They all say, we're pure, like they're the Virgin Mary or something. No, I'm so sorry. You're not. Because what I do is I've there's a laboratory. I'm I'm also world certified in forensic medicine, aside from other things. So I know what labs to use to test for certain things. And every once in a while I'll get a call from a district attorney's office on what should they do about this or that or the other. Someone's been buried for six years. They now figured out that it's been poisoned. How do they get the poison? There's no more blood left, I know what labs can do tests and analysis on things like heavy metals, pesticides, etcetera. So I always grab one, send it to them, let them analyze it. I take the label off so they don't know who made it or what what is in the bottle, and I want to get the answer, the truth. I've only found one lab that I can trust it's a huge struggle because yes, these patients do need certain specific supplements at specific dosages. To get well again. they don't say in a medical study in a journal, take vitamin C. They say take this type of vitamin C at this dose this often for this long. Very precise. This is why I say eight precise supplements at precise dosages that show they help to remove and restore the body's normal function. One example is seventy-five percent of people in the United States are low on vitamin D three. if you're low on D three you can't absorb vitamin C. And we do not make, nor can we store vitamin C. So you can take thousands of milligrams of vitamin C, but if you don't have enough D on board, you're not gonna go anywhere. you've got to know these things to be able to help people who are sick and are not doing well. They have brain fog, aches and pains, they have sleep disturbance, they have gut issues, etc. And what I always do in my videos, I always show before and after, taken by the patient themselves, not me. So they don't say, he photoshopped it or whatever. No. Patient does it on their phone and sends a picture to me.

Aubree: Yeah, and I've seen those pictures and they're incredible transformations. Some of those pictures just will blow you away with it's it doesn't even look like the same person at all. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: They're well again.

Aubree: They've got their life back, which is what happened with me. So forever grateful for that. So I want to talk a little bit because I know people are dying right now listening and going, Well, what's the answer? Okay. I know how to I know how to test. I need to use the My Michael lab testing, but what do I then do? Because you're right, there's so much misinformation out there. It's incredibly hard to to know the right path forward on how to actually heal. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: So when there's a little bit of moisture, it doesn't have to be something doesn't have to be wet. Little moisture, like say there's a thunderstorm or or a rainstorm, and you touch your windowsill and it's just a little bit moist. That's all it needs to grow. Of course, most people are clean, clean their homes, et cetera. But if there's mold growth, up north the problem is basements, because up north people use basements and those are inherently humid. They have moisture in them because aren't they underground? It's normal. So anyway, that little bit of moisture will help mold to start growing. And mold, when it starts growing, starts releasing mold spores. And those mold spores carry mycotoxins. And that's what you breathe in. Human hair, and you've got lovely hair, is about

Aubree: Thank you. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: 100 microns thick. Mold spores are two to four microns. So they you inhale them, they go to the deepest part of the lung, the deepest part into your nasal sinuses, not your nasal passages, nasal sinuses. And they're starting growing. So you've got to kill those spores. Because they have the, they're they're carrying the mycotoxins, and you do that with an antifungal for the last 35 years of your dietrochonazole, because that's what the books say. And it works. the other part is you've got to do the eight specific supplements, and you've got to be on a nutritional plan that's an anti-inflammatory, reduce the inflammation in your body. So no more watching TV, eating Pringles, and drinking Coke. but the first thing a person has to do, and it's the first rule of toxicology, take the patient away from the toxin or the toxin away from the patient. these mycotoxins are molecules. They're not living things. Mold spores are living, molds are living things, but mycotoxins Are toxins. Toxins are molecules. Mercury is a toxin. It's a molecule. Glyphosate is a molecule, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. So if you're around breathing that stuff in every day and you're trying to take medication, what's the use? It doesn't

Aubree: Hm. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: work at all. Why do it? You have to get away from the source first. Finding the source is a huge problem. Huge problem. And I've seen this since I started out on this journey decades ago. And unfortunately, you know, inspection, that's a course that someone can take on a during a weekend and then get a certificate and say, I'm a mold inspector. And I've seen so many patients send me their inspection and say it's clean. I had one lady, it takes a woman sometimes to get to the real basis of things. She had two mold inspections clean. She had foundation inspection clean, roof inspection clean. There's no leaks. She got frustrated. She started tearing up the tile in her home. It was covered with mold underneath.

Aubree: Wow. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: So she found it. All these inspectors, I'm sorry, it didn't work. But she intuitively knew something's not right here. I had another case. Young woman, mother of three children, and her husband. She and the kids were not well. Hubby was fine, but of course hubby was gone most of the time. his job took him here and there. He says there's nothing wrong. Finally, in December, they went to visit mom one and mom two, you know, the husband's mom and that for a week, and then the daughter's mom for another week. So both grandmothers got to see the family with the grandchildren. They come back. The husband opens the door, shoves it open, and said, We have a problem here. He could smell it.

Aubree: Who wow? Andrew Campbell, M.D.: What happened? They moved into a brand new home, never lived in, just finished. Brand new. Within a month they were feeling bad. What did they find? One of the nails that had been put through behind it was one of those pipes and a puncture pipe. So you have to be Sherlock Holmes sometimes to get to the basis, because if you don't find the most, and it could be in your car. I mean, I live in Florida. Sometimes when I go to the supermarket, I leave my windows cracked a little bit, so when I get back, I'm not sitting in an oven ready to cook a pizza.

Aubree: Yeah. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: And what do I do? I look inside, the seat is wet. there was a thunder shower. Well, can mold grow in your car? Yes. It could be where you go for a yoga class. What if you go to the gym four or five times a week for half an hour, forty five minutes, or whatever? You're being exposed. Not necessarily always your home. What about your workplace? So all these are potential places where you can get which are the source of your health problems.

Aubree: Mm-hmm. Do you see people, Dr. Campbell, that do not have mold in their home but are still severely sick just from an hour at the gym or at Bible study? Andrew Campbell, M.D.: It's a toxin. It's not a little virus, it's not a little bacteria, it's a toxin. How much mercury is it okay to be around?

Aubree: None. I don't want any of that. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Correct zero. Mycotoxins are carcinogenic. They change DNA and RNA. They're mutagenic, meaning they can cause malformations in a fetus. They go through the placenta. They come out in breast milk for a new baby. They are toxic to the brain, liver, kidneys, bone marrow. And they're toxic to the skin. How much is it okay to have? Four times four times a week for 45 minutes. Okay? That's three hours a week. How many hours per month is that? Twelve

Aubree: twelve. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: hours. How many hours per year is that?

Aubree: I'm not good at math. Too much, too much. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Too much is exactly right. You don't want any. Well, I only smoked half a pack a day. Sorry. You can get cancer for your spouse smoking.

Aubree: So true. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: So no toxin.

Aubree: Yeah, that makes complete sense. So if you're someone that is just in a mild exposure and you've done the MyMico lab, is that gonna still show up as a pretty high elevation on the IGE? Would you know that it was not from the home from that testing or or have a good indication? Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Okay, that's a very good question. Everybody's immune system is unique and different, like a fingerprint, even in monozygotic twins, meaning twins that were born from the same mother's egg. Their immune systems are completely different. And

Aubree: Really? Andrew Campbell, M.D.: you know of couples, they go somewhere, they catch the flu, they come home, one of them's in bed for a week, the other one's back up and fine in two days. Same flu.

Aubree: Yep. Yep. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: We're all different. So, What will it show since everybody's immune system is different? Let me give you an example. I had mom, dad, five kids, all under the age of fifteen, in a moldy home. Every one of their tests was different. Little Susie, who was right next to the moldy bathroom, felt bad, but not terrible. Johnny, who lived on the other end of the house, felt absolutely awful, and his grades went way down and he couldn't participate in sports.

Aubree: Same exposure, just completely different immune systems. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: that's immunology. So for example, some people can't eat a peanut or even part of a peanut. I can, I do.

Aubree: Yes. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Okay, some people will can die of an anaphylactic shock from penicillin. In others it saves their lives.

Aubree: Mm. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: But you can tell by the test on the first is IgG antibodies. First page. Now, IgG antibodies, if you're testing for pathogens, bacteria, viruses, parasites, etc., that means sometime in your life you were infected. So for example, when I was a kid, a little boy, I got chicken pox. I now have IGG antibody guns chicken pox. Do I have the chicken pox now? No, I had it when I was a kid. IGE to those things indicates that you're allergic to them. And that's usually for outdoor stuff. This is when you get a scratchy nose, itchy eyes, etcetera. all those things, viruses, bacteria, etc., are all living organisms with cell membranes, cell walls. Toxins don't have a cell wall and are not alive. They're a molecule. So IgG, immunoglobulin G reaction by the immune system to a toxin indicates this is at this time inside your body, and this is how much is inside your body. Some people absorb better than others. IgG will tell you, okay, they're pretty high. It's in some, it's in your environment. If they're very high, That's also mass cell activation. and also that they're probably in your home. Because that's where you spend at least 14 hours a day, if not more.

Aubree: Right. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: If it's not that high, that's where you think of could it be work? Could it be the gym? Could it be yoga class? Could it be the Bible study in that old church I go to twice a week?

Aubree: if you've got middle of the ground IgE and you don't show a lot of IgG, does that tell you it's just a a once in a while exposure and and not a long term thing? Or what does that mean? Andrew Campbell, M.D.: It would tell me one of two things. One is that they're being exposed, just not heavily. So it's

Aubree: Okay. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: an occasional exposure. And I IgE takes hours for the body to make. IgG takes a month.

Aubree: Okay. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: So maybe where they're going to now is in IGE, but in another month the IGGs will start going getting higher. And anyone who does the My Micro Lab test, as you know, gets a complimentary Zoom call to go over these results.

Aubree: and be explained as to what exactly they mean. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Going on inside that person's body. Because if you do that person, their husband, they might be different. They will be. They should be different.

Aubree: Mm-hmm. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: God forbid they should be exactly alike.

Aubree: That would be a scary thing. So if if we've got two different test results and we know based on this test, yes, there is an exposure, it's in the home. Do you recommend following that same treatment that you laid out for both of the patients? Even if, let's say, as I see often, the husband is not symptomatic, but he's showing that he's got toxins based on that antibody testing. Okay. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Yes, because some patients are very sensitive to things and others are not at all. And and I've seen this in my career. Men tend to deny things. Then when I meet them in the emergency room, I should have listened to you, Doc. You've been telling me this for years. You know. Венерморка

Aubree: Yes. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: реак е до сам тим на.

Aubree: Yes. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: No, I'm a strong man. I'm this is nothing. You know, only what come in with a bell buckle the size of a hubcap.

Aubree: We see that in Texas, yes. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: But I used to see too, what do you mean

Aubree: Mm. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: I can't have steak for my breakfast? My

Aubree: Yeah. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: father used to give me steak for breakfast.

Aubree: Yes, it's very accurate. Okay. Okay. So we have just a few more questions. I've learned a ton. I know everybody listening is just mind blown. And I'm I'm curious. I want to circle back a little bit on mast cell because there's a lot of information going on on that right now. A lot of it is inaccurate as well. So a lot of people, by the time they get to me, I know by the time they get to you, feel as if their body reacts to everything. not just medication supplements, but foods and smells and every they're so reactive. Can you explain why that is, especially it seems to be in these chronic illness cases, mold sensitivity and what what happens with mast cells? Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Yes. and I'm fortunate enough to have a colleague who's really great at mast cell, Doctor Teo Haridas, who was at Tufts University School of Medicine and now he's at Nova University here in Florida. And so we zoom f on a regular basis to discuss mast cell. He's published studies. My last publication on mast cell was I think a year and a half ago. Or so published with Dr. Weinstock, GI Medicine professor of medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. And we published this study. So mast cells are very key to the immune response. Under normal circumstances, let's say a person is Allergic to cats. Just as an example. And they go visit a friend, and the friend has a cat. Well, they're going to start having a bit of runny nose, a little bit of itchy eyes, etc., until they leave. And then they'll be feel better. That's the normal mast cell reaction. Mast cells are full of vesicles, like little bubbles, and they will secrete histamine, heparin, things like that. and cause whelps on your skin, and they'll affect you know, because you've got this stuff running down the back of your throat, etc. When it comes to a toxin, instead of secreting those things only, what the mast cells will start doing is secreting what we call pro inflammatory cytokines. This is a little bit scientific, medical medical terms, but what that means, it sends out an email blast to the immune system saying cause inflammation. Create inflammation. And where does it create that inflammation, especially? Well, where there's a lot of mast cells, three areas the brain, the gut, the skin.

Aubree: Mm. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: So this is where you get the mast cell, and then there's mast cell activation, there's mast cell disease, mass cell activation syndrome, and there's mastocytosis. So I as a doctor know the difference. But most people say I can't take anything. I can't walk down the aisle where they have soap at the supermarket because those smells will get I can't go to a mall because of all the perfumes. I can't go anywhere. I can't take, I don't know, a vitamin because it makes me sick. I can't tolerate anything. Well, first of all, always look at what that were they on a bunch of supplements before?

Aubree: Hmm. Usually. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: So now you're full of mercury and God knows what pesticides and God knows what else from those supplements. You've got to just stop everything and be like that for three weeks. you start with on persons that sensitive, you start with getting rid of everything. I mean, I have people coming with fifty, they take 50 supplements a day, 30 supplements a day, 20 supplements a day. That's ridiculous. So start with nutrition, that's the basis. That'll help. Then you start with. supplements? And then keep adding, keep building, keep building. Now, which supplements? Well, the antioxidant supplements. What are very potent antioxidants? The right dose. I bought one and if one says it makes gonna make me feel better I'm gonna take five of No Okay. Another powerful antioxidant. And who wrote about all this? Doctor Linus Pauling. Doctor Linus Pauling won the Nobel Prize twice. Vitamin C Start with the potent antioxidant. By the way, resveratrol is also a great anti cancer supplement. You're actually looking at it from that point of view in many studies that you can give resveratrol instead of giving a drug. That's how effective

Aubree: Wow. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: it is.

Aubree: That's remarkable. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Yes, it is. And it also, there's a particular mycotoxin called xyralinone.

Aubree: Mm-hmm. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Zirelenone is a highly estrogenic mycotoxin. I have a patient, she's six years old and she's menstruate.

Aubree: my goodness. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: It's in her school, not at home.

Aubree: Hm. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Of course they took her out, but it causes peremptious puberty in girls. In boys, it delays puberty.

Aubree: Interesting. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: That's the seventeen year old. Who's talking still like this?

Aubree: Ha ha ha. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: You know what I mean. So, what does it cause? It causes PCOS. ovarian issues in women. if a a woman is pregnant, premature delivery, fetal demise, it's terrible. and in men it reduces their testosterone to where they're basically unable to function as men, they're sterile. All these IVF clinics. All these people Why don't you check yourself for mycotoxins?

Aubree: Absolutely. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: You won't believe this. This is a true story. I have many, many families that came to see me because of this situation of molds. They didn't mention to me infertility. But after they got well, guess what happened?

Aubree: I got pregnant. A little surprise. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Yes. And you would not how many Andrews and Andreas

Aubree: Ha ha ha. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: because they named them after me.

Aubree: That's quite a privilege. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: I said that.

Aubree: Well, that's amazing. I I've learned a tremendous amount. I continue to learn from you and I'm so thankful that you're continuing to research and be willing to share, you know, all of the knowledge that you have. Is there anything that we're missing today, Dr. Campbell, that you feel like maybe we we didn't hit on that you would love to share with the audience? Andrew Campbell, M.D.: Put your phone down. Don't go to Facebook, Instagram, and all these people that are saying this, that and the other. It's just their opinion. It has no backing. Don't do these tests that are like the visual contrast test. There's nothing in medicine on that. Nothing. Yet people pay money for for nothing. Don't go into all those things. You want what I was taught. You want to believe in God, but everybody else has got to show you the evidence. Show me a published study. if you take this and it's now, this week only, 20% off on our website. send me the that's great. I'm happy for you. Send me the studies that show this works. So look at the real stuff. Go with people like you who've done the work, who've suffered, pulled themselves out of that terrible black hole of suffering. And it's not only suffering here, but suffering in your heart, suffering with loss of things you've all the good things you've had it built up in your life, you lose all that. I don't want that, I don't wish that for anyone. Even these so-called experts. you're an expert? Show me your credentials. you have a course where you certify people. Is that course based on a medical institution? A viable, recognized medical, or is that just your website? it's my website. thank you for being honest. But it's not worth the paper it's written on. So go with the real stuff. Go with people to you. Let them go to you. Let them get helped by you. Because you will help them. You've been through it all and now you know how to get out of there. You've got the

Aubree: Yes. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: keys.

Aubree: Absolutely. Thanks to you, Doctor Campbell. Absolutely. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: And there's no coincidences in God's universe.

Aubree: Well, I can't tell you how happy this has made my heart to have you on and be able to share, truth with everybody out there. So I I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart and just wanna say thank you. Andrew Campbell, M.D.: You're very welcome. Thank you for having me.

Aubree Felderhoff

Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner | Mold Recovery Concierge | Certified Primal Health Coach | Master Personal Trainer

Aubree spent 12 years and more than $250,000 searching for answers to a mystery chronic illness that 30-plus doctors couldn't solve. The first culprit was a mycotoxin-overloaded home that triggered a cascade of symptoms nobody could trace back to the source. After finally identifying the connection, remediating, and rebuilding her health, she faced a second exposure years later when water damage in her next home brought the symptoms flooding back.

That second experience is what shaped everything. She found a physician who understood antifungal treatment, completed neuroplasticity training, and fully recovered. Having navigated mold illness twice, from two different sources, she understands both how it starts and how it ends.

Aubree is a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP), a Certified Primal Health Coach, NASM Certified Trainer, and Cooper Clinic Certified. Before mold illness defined her life, she spent 14 years in elite fitness as a national champion collegiate gymnast. She brings that same discipline and evidence-based approach to mold recovery, helping families get clear answers faster, without the decade of wrong turns she endured.
