This is where guessing ends and real healing begins. Let's get started. Aubree Felderhoff Welcome back to Mold Free Mom and today I have a very special guest expert on. I have Heather O'Brien and I am so excited to share her with you guys. She is a prophetic healing coach, a Bible teacher, and the host of the Heal With God podcast, which is ranked in the top 2.5 % globally. She helps Christians who love Jesus but still feel emotionally stuck learn how to hear God clearly. and heal with him deeply. Through her signature Heal with God roadmap, Heather brings practical spirit led tools that break anxiety, fear, trauma and confusion, releasing believers into confidence, clarity and lasting peace. Welcome Heather. Heather O'Brien Yeah, I'm so excited for this conversation. Aubree Felderhoff I want to start off, and this is something that I had to really look into, but you describe yourself as a prophetic healing coach. Can you explain more about what that is and how it's different than say traditional counseling or a therapist? Heather O'Brien Yeah, so I'm not a licensed therapist. I am a licensed minister. And I try to make that really clear because I'm different in that regard. I'm not studied up on all of those different things. What I do is I know how to pray. I know how to hear God's voice and I'm not trying to sound prideful. I would love it if every Christian would say that. But I help Christians hear God's voice to help them get down to the root of the issue. And it happens with conversation. It happens by me having conversation with you, with loves us to work together. He loves us to have conversation. He loves to be in the mix. So it's not like I'm just telling you what the problem is. I'm getting to know you. I'm getting to know your life. I'm getting to know your story. And in that, God starts sharing, listen to this. Listen closer to this. Listen closer to this. And He'll zone in. on the root of the issue Aubree Felderhoff And how did you get into that? Heather O'Brien Well, so that's how I healed. I healed by learning how to hear God's voice. And I don't know about you, but I've got a teacher's heart. And so I always wanted to replicate. Anytime I would get healed from something, I would learn something new about Jesus. I just wanted to scream it to the rooftops. But also, I would silently be asking God, how can I help someone else do that? I don't know what just happened. But I have some major encounters with God that brought radical deliverance. Night and day changed, but also God, how can I tell people what just happened? I mean, I want to share. Yes, Jesus is amazing. He just did this, but it's not very helpful if I can't tell you what to do to get down to the bottom of it. And I like formulas. I like things that X, Y, Z. And I know God's not a God of formulas, but he is a God of promises. And his word has promises. And if this, then this. And that's a formula. If you do this, then you get this. And you know. the world actually benefits from his promises too. Whether you're following Jesus or not, if you follow the promises, you still can benefit. And I want to the Christian benefit. I want to help the Christian get down to the root of the issue. And so I started healing with God and people started coming to me and say, can you disciple me? Can you help me? And I was an accountant for many years and I would just help them on my lunch hour. And then... I started writing books because I'm like, I want to write this down. This actually works for everybody. We don't all have the same problems, but we all have the same God who has the same voice, who, leads us in directs us. And the past that I follow the formulas, if you will, the direction, it's all designed to help people. No matter your trauma looks like apples, my trauma looks like oranges, but trauma is trauma. not trying to minimize it. I'm just trying to say. God is a God of healing and help and hope, and He knows how to help us get there. And so that's how I started, is I got healed and then I wanted to replicate it. And He started showing me there is actually a roadmap to this. Aubree Felderhoff Wow, that's incredible. And as I think about just my journey through mold illness, there was a roadmap. I didn't look at it in that way. But I wanna ask you as I'm thinking about it, a lot of the listeners who are struggling with mystery symptoms, chronic illness, possibly even mold, they are, if they're like me, feeling as if their body has betrayed them and that God isn't. answering their prayers for healing. Maybe they've been praying for years and it's almost like they're just beating at a dead end. know, there's silence on the other end. So what would you say, and I'm sure you've worked with these types of people, what would you say to the person who's just feeling desperate for answers but getting very minimal crickets and feeling almost just spiritually defeated? Like what is the point? Heather O'Brien my heart is like bleeding for you. I hate the disappointment and the heartache that goes into trying to understand what the problem is. I felt it too on lots of different things in my life where I'm like, I've been doing this for a hot minute and not seeing results. I mean, we could see that in our business. We could see that in our health. Even if you don't have chronic symptoms, you can see that in different areas in your relationships. Like I've been trying to help my kid get you know, through XYZ problem. And are they ever going to figure it out? I don't know. Totally understand this as a mom do. the thing that just really popped out to me as you were we really need other people to help us. God never meant for us to do this alone. And we're trying to figure it out. And I'm trying to figure out symptoms on my own. And sometimes I'm like, I can hear God's voice. I knew how to walk through deliverance. And God will just strip you of that pride altogether and you won't get the answers that you're looking for until you go the route that he wants you to go. And I look back now, I didn't understand it so well in the moment, but I remember him tapping on the shoulder, hey, go ask this person. But I didn't want to confess my sin. I didn't want to confess my problem, my struggle, my, chronic I don't even want to say it out loud, some of the stuff I was going through. You know what I'm saying? Like. Aubree Felderhoff Heard you. Heather O'Brien I even wrote it in the book and I'm like, I still don't want to talk about that. I was struggling and I was trying to figure it out. I remember this one particular thing. I struggled for at least two years until I confess it to a couple of friends in a moment where it felt really reasonable because they were talking about their struggles and then it was like my time to talk and I'm like, well, I'm going through this and I just threw it out there. And when you know and that they knew what was going on in my life otherwise. And so they were like, I think that is connected to this. And I never connected the dots and God wouldn't allow me to. So I know you want to be mad at God, but in his goodness, sometimes he's protecting us because he doesn't want us to do it all alone because that's prideful. sometimes we hear God's voice through others. Sometimes it's through the scriptures. Sometimes it's in nature. Sometimes we hear God's voice in dreams at night, but a lot of times. A lot of times we hear it from others. And I know you might be going to doctors and things like that, but I would say, are you going to the person God is highlighting you to go to? Maybe you need a coach. Maybe you need someone who doesn't have a PhD. Maybe you need someone who knows how to pray. ⁓ And it's not always, your pastor. Your pastor doesn't always know the problem. they may or may not have ever had your struggle. Go on the podcast app and see who's been through where you're at and is on the other side. So I've had all these struggles and I say, yeah, but I know how to get down the other side. And sometimes it's like asking other people. I have a lot of people in my camp now, like confessing my sins if I need help. Like I can't get down to the bottom of this. So I get it. I don't want you to stay stuck though. Reach out for. for someone to help you that I feel like accountability is a lot easier than we make it. Aubree Felderhoff That's so true and such a good point about you know reaching out. We're not meant to do this alone You know Adam was given Eve for a reason like we are meant to be in community and I know Just my personal experience with chronic illness mold toxicity in so many other things, know When I was struggling with anxiety or depression, it feels very isolating it can feel and I think a lot of that is the enemy to Telling you like I'm the only one You're the only one dealing with this. Nobody really understands what you're going through and nobody can help you. You're kind of stuck in this and it's a really dark place. And what he wants you to do is not reach out, know? Like to sit in that on your own. And you're exactly right. We need to be reaching out. And what an amazing point. Reach out to someone that has been where you are and is where you want to go. Not someone, I mean, yes, it's great to get support from people who are also struggling, but... Heather O'Brien yes. I felt that. Yeah. Aubree Felderhoff you want to reach out to someone that's already on the other side of it. Heather O'Brien we reach out to our best friend or our spouse and they aren't really the person that has any clue how to help you. And it's not that you can't talk it through with them. And that's why sometimes you do need a licensed counselor because they understand how to go through trauma you need to go to the person who has the antidote. And I really will go back to who is God leading you to? Who's the safe person God is leading you to? Aubree Felderhoff So kind of on that note, people who are struggling with chronic illness, mold toxicity, a lot of times that will come with a heavy burden of shame, a feeling as if you are a burden to your family, a financial burden, an emotional toll. You know, I got so sick, I lost my ability to drive and care for my children. We had to have a nanny come to help me get up and go to the bathroom. Throughout the day I was a stay-at-home mom at the time, and my husband had to constantly take off work to drive me because I could no longer drive. That comes, you know, in your 20s and 30s, that comes with a lot of shame and feelings of worthlessness, right? Of like, what is the point of me if I'm just a burden? It's a dark place to be. So how do you help people who are maybe there emotionally that just, there's so much emotional weight and just this heaviness and how do you help them to heal from that? I mean, that's so dark, right? I know I gave you an impossible question, but. Heather O'Brien Yeah. No, no, I'm even imagining some clients as, as you're talking, I'm like, it was hard for them. I don't know that I came and saved the day, but I gave them some structure and feedback. here's the thing is you're going to need a coach who actually helps you mentally kind of coach you into shape, right? You might think about like a football coach or something like they. They aren't always the nice guys. They aren't always like, here, here's some water. Stop and take a water break. They're like, take another lap. And sometimes when we're down in the pit, I'm gonna be that coach for you. Have you read your Bible today? Have you done any declarations out loud? Have you put on a worship song today? Because sometimes you're gonna be like, well, I didn't feel like it. I've had people say, I don't have capacity to read the Bible. Okay, can you press play? Right, because there's so, many opportunities for us to listen to the word. And did you know that faith comes by hearing the word? Hearing it. So I would say not just listening to a sermon, which I love, not just listening to a podcast, which I'm like, listen to mine, but also listening to the word. I press play and listen to the word every morning. That's how I digest the word. And so a coach would come in and kind of whip you into shape spiritually and say, okay, yes, you're you've got shame, you've got guilt, you've got condonation. This is spiritual warfare. You've got all the health issues and that's a whole other thing. But you can't even fight that now because now you're in the dumps with shame. So I would help you deal with the spiritual side of it. Right. I'm not a doctor. I don't know how to handle mold. I might send you to Aubrey. She knows exactly what, where, what to do, where to go. I'm gonna tell people to go to you if they got these mold symptoms. But also, let me help you with a shame. And I would say, are you reading your Bible, worshiping, praying, and in community? Because those are the four ways that you're gonna hear God's voice. Bible, worship, prayer, and community. And you're gonna need to hear God's voice to get out of that shame and that dumpster, that dumpster fire. You can get out of that dumpster fire. Let me just say, I'm gonna encourage you. It's not as hard as we make it, right? It feels heavy. It feels really dark and heavy and hopeless. But if you're feeling hopeless, that means that's the enemy whispering to you. That's not God. God is the God of hope. And so if you want your hope to arise, you're going to have to find his voice. And his voice comes with Bible worship, prayer and community. Aubree Felderhoff Okay, Heather, I have a really hard question for you. And it's probably an impossible answer, but I feel like it's the question that so many of us have. How do know it's God's voice and not your own or the devil even, or just a random thought? You there's so many times that I have had thoughts that I thought, is that God? Or is it just me saying what I think I should hear or what I want to hear? You know, how can you really discern the difference? if it's not a big booming quote unquote God voice that many of us don't hear this big booming voice.

Heather O'Brien That's:

a great question. That's a great question. Okay, so you're not always going to know. Can we just like throw that out there? You're not always going to know. I don't always know, but I do know I can hear his voice. Do you hear that confidence as I say that? I sound very confident, but I also know I miss it a lot. And so I'm a real human. Can we just be human together? I'm a real human trying to hear our creator and he validates me.

Aubree Felderhoff Yes. Yes.:

Yes. Heather O'Brien often enough that I can have that confidence that I do hear his voice. So here's some ways. Number one, it will never contradict the word. So are you reading the word to know if it's contradicting? That's one. Number two is never going to contradict the fruit of the spirit. Okay, so is the Holy Spirit who wrote the word who is God, they're all together and the fruit of the spirit is love, is joy, is hope. Come on. So you could still have a good idea and you're like, is that me or God? And it is good. It doesn't go against his word, but is this me or God? And here's what I do for those kinds of circumstances. I throw it out to God and I say, God, I think I just heard your voice. And let me give you a practical example. I love business stuff and I love a good project. like as a mom, I love to organize things every once in a while. But it will distract everything I'm supposed to do for that day. It'll get you off point. It'll do that in business. It'll do that in home. Maybe even some of your moms love to go to Chick-fil-A and hang out with other moms. And you're like, but this is going to keep me from doing the laundry today. And it was laundry day. Well, sometimes God wants you to stop. Aubree Felderhoff Hmm, yep, yep. Heather O'Brien doing that laundry and go hang out with that friend. And here's how you need to know, God, I've been presented with this opportunity or this idea. And you know I really want to do it because it sounds so fun and I won't have to do these other things. And you know I love a good project. This is what I say to him personally. God, you know I love a good project. God, you know I love to just stop and pray with people. God, you know I just, I would love to take this call and you know this random person's calling me and they need prayer and I'm like, I want to do this. And God's like, okay, here's what I do. I present it to God just like that. And I say, God, close the doors that need to be closed. Open the doors that need to be open. You know I want to do this. I give him, I usually don't rush on anything, if I'm honest. Like if I have an idea, I present it to him and I say, God, please help me. Give me wisdom. He says, if you need wisdom, ask for it. Give me wisdom, God. Is this you? Help me bring clarity. Sometimes you can ask for confirmation and sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't. Right? So I've had plenty of times when he did give me confirmation. It was something pretty big and now and then when he does man, you better say yes, You. Aubree Felderhoff So true. ⁓ Heather O'Brien You better feel the fear of the Lord in that when he does give you confirmation You asked for and he gave it to you like don't hesitate at that point but sometimes I don't even want to ask for confirmation because I still want to mull about it and so I just give him freedom God. I think this is you I'm gonna walk this way close the door if it needs to be closed. Maybe it's a new job opportunity. Maybe it's a new doctor appointment. I've had so many people say, door got open, so I know it's God. And I'm like, it's not God at all. And they didn't ask me. OK, here's the next thing. The scripture says ask for wise counsel. It says if you are wise, you'll have a plethora, a multitude of counselors around you. So if you're doing life alone, you're not safe. And if you're saying, hear God and you're all alone, I'm like, you're not safe to be around, right? People need to be able to speak into your life. So I'm thinking of one person in particular, she had a job opportunity and she was like, I didn't even ask for it. It's an open door, it must be God. I immediately knew in my spirit this was not from God. She didn't ask my opinion. Aubree Felderhoff my goodness, that gives me pills. Heather O'Brien she said that's my opinion and I was like okay so not everybody wants Heather's opinion. My husband reminds me of this often. He's like not everyone's your client and paying for your advice so you're gonna have to wait till they ask for it and I'm like that's so true and so when you're a friend yes I might speak into your life if you give me you know that open door that permission to but you know she obviously didn't want it and she already said this was from God. Aubree Felderhoff Right? ⁓ Heather O'Brien So how dare I come in and say, I don't think it is. So we have to be really careful saying, thus saith the Lord. I hope that helped. That gave you a lot of different ideas and it's never gonna contradict his word, his character, and he's often going to confirm his word through other people, through circumstances, and you're gonna have not just a piece about it. man, get me off on the peace. People wanna follow their peace. I'm like, it's not always peaceful to follow God. Sometimes it's very disruptive. So don't always just look for this peaceful situation. You're gonna have peace inside and there might be chaos outside. Aubree Felderhoff So disruptive. Heather O'Brien That's what I guess that's what I'm gonna say. Yeah. Aubree Felderhoff my God. Yeah, that is so true. It's really ringing a bell for me, just this last mold exposure that we had as a family in this new house that we moved to from the last house that had mold. And I knew in my spirit that there was something going on, but nothing made sense. It's a newer house. had beautiful new cabinets brought in and a new master bathroom put in. I mean, it was all fresh and new. Like it didn't make sense, but I kept hearing from God. that I really needed to investigate. And when we found mold, I didn't know where to go. It's really scary. When you're in mold toxicity, and you have to move out and find a safe home that's mold free, that's like a rent home or an Airbnb or a friend, you're kind of in fear. You're in a lot of fear because most of the mold is invisible. It's not like, I mean, yes, some people are...

Heather:

Aubree Felderhoff quote unquote, lucky enough to see it on their walls, but usually it's not visible. It was never for us. It's hiding. And so just to walk into Airbnb's and be like, is this, I don't know, is this okay? know, am I sicker? you know, during that whole time we went to, eight total homes during that entire time with my family and my three dogs. But during that time, without knowing, I had to literally walk in and just ask God. God. Is this right for us? Is this I trust this place? And I had to wait on him to answer me. And he literally gave me, such confirmation or such red flags so quickly. And I had such peace in my spirit, but also such upheaval. Exactly what you're talking about. was very... Uncomfortable to have no sight and to literally be led by faith, which is what faith is, right? It's so hard to do. Heather O'Brien Yes. Yes. It's uncomfortable. And I think God is asking us to be uncomfortable. is often testing us. It's not always the devil. If we could be real, he's often wondering how far is she going to go? Does she really believe what she says? And as a Christian, you believe by faith. And that goes back to you. I said, how do you hear God's voice? I believe by faith.

Aubree:

Heather O'Brien that I can hear him. He said, my sheep hear my voice and I will believe by faith that I can hear his voice and he will direct my steps. He says the footsteps of the godly are ordered of the Lord. And so I'm going this way, God, you can redirect me and I give him permission, right? God, give me back on the path quick if I messed up and he will. Well, Aubree Felderhoff I love it. Okay, so let me ask you this if I am someone listening right now who is literally in the thick of it Maybe I'm in you know, the heart of mold recovery or remediation Maybe I don't even know I have mold but I'm just struggling and I'm beat down and I feel that God has abandoned me if we're getting real about it I'm exhausted. I'm anxious. I'm losing hope What is one spiritual or emotional practice that you can give my listener today that will help that person? have confidence and faith that they can hear God and take that next step. Heather O'Brien faith comes by hearing and hearing of the word of God. but, you could press play and listen to the Bible, but also I was really thinking about worship. there's different kinds. And I like different ones for different reasons, but there's some that basically are telling God who he is. God, you are holy. God, you are worthy. God, you are amazing. You're on time. Whenever I hear those songs, my faith arises. It's not just the radio kind of Christian music. Do you know what I'm saying? Like there's a different kind of worship song for a different kind of event. And when you're hopeless, you need to be able to see God as bigger than your circumstance. And when, so when you start worshiping God and I'm talking about like literally God, you are statements. God, you are holy. You are right on time. You are righteous. You are enough. You are the one true and holy God. Like when you start worshiping Him, your eyes won't look at your problem quite as big. And that will shift things and then maybe you can press play on your Bible. And then maybe you can, get around I think the next first step is a really good worship set. Aubree Felderhoff You know, it's funny, but when I was really, really struggling, I mean, I was in the depths of being so, if I'm being honest, angry with God and feeling forgotten, neglected, abandoned. And I remember going to church one Sunday and I did not want to go. Let's be honest. I was mad, right? It's like if you're in a fight with someone, you don't want to be around them. And I went in and I'm like, I am so mad. Like, I am so mad at you. I mean, we were just having, we were going at it in the service. And I just remember hearing him tell me to sing.

Heather:

Uh-huh. Aubree Felderhoff That's all I heard, just the words sing, like stand up and sing. And I did, and the tears were coming, you know, the voice is shaking, like it was probably the ugliest song that I've ever sang. I just felt the most amazing peace fill my soul. only described as the holy presence of God, right, in that moment. And it was only through me singing worship to him and the words in that song, And just, was literally like God was right there with me and I was singing to him and he was telling me it was going to be okay and give me this giant hug. And it just washed over me. And I just, I think about it as you were saying that, like, yes, that was the first step for me was obeying the word sing, you know, when I didn't want to. ⁓ Heather O'Brien We enter his gates with praise and Thanksgiving. And so if you're full of hopelessness, but you want the God of hope, he's a person. If you want him around, not just an emotion, but you want him around and you want the emotion, start with some Thanksgiving. Start with some worship. start with what the word says. He says, that's how you enter his presence. And it does change things. And it's biblical. We'll go back to he has promises in his word. If this in this. He says enter my gates with praise and Thanksgiving Thanksgiving and praise however you want to word it and it's that's how you enter his gates. it is a formula. Aubree Felderhoff Heather, this has been amazing. I would love to hear a little bit more about what your program entails.
